The popular 1996 game "Resident Evil" was remastered in 2015 with "Resident Evil HD Remaster ". Until now, even if the franchise has released several other titles, the original is still being used in mods.
"Resident Evil HD Remaster": first person view mod
According to Twinfinite, users on NeoGAF found an interesting video by a modder named Rod Lima. Lima has taken "Resident Evil HD Remaster" based on the original GameCube game from 2002 and tweaked the title to allow first-person gameplay.
Both the cut-scenes and gameplay are entirely in first-person. It has all the details down to Jill Valentine's first few moments exploring the Spencer Mansion. The forum members added that Lima extracted the model and animation data from the "Resident Evil" make and remade the Mansion backdrops entirely, using the 3D modeling package, Blender.
It is important to note that Lima's mod is not yet available for download. Still other Resident Evill fans were very happy about it (via PC Gamer).
"Resident Evil HD Remaster": and "Biohazard"
However, could this be a coincidence that "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard", the only first-person entry into the series, has just been released. Although the source said that it is very unlikely to get a first-person iteration of the first "Resident Evil" - well, unless it's from Capcom itself. Maybe "Biohazard" could be a good way satisfy the weird itch to play a first-person itch title after being able to witness Lima's impressive modding work.
"Resident Evil Biohazard" is also compatible with VR devices. Makes you want to think what mods could be done to "Biohazard", right? We have to stay tuned for that.
