‘Death Stranding’ Coming To PS4, Reflects Societal, Environmental Consequences; Possible Debut At E3 2017; Is it Kojima’s Anticipated 2017 Game?
ByKojima Productions is releasing this year another game called "Death Stranding." The upcoming open world action video game will be available for PS4 and reflects societal and environmental consequences. The game is set in a post- apocalyptic world that is more like a wasteland.
It stars Norman Reedus of "Walking Dead Fame" and reflects scenes of man's abuse of the environment. It can be recalled that Hideo Kojima released a major teaser for "Death Stranding" during The Game Awards last year, Polygon reported.
Although it did not reveal much about the game but it gives fans a sneak peak of the stars who will be used as characters for the game. Aside from from Reedus, "Hannibal" star Mads Mikkelsen and celebrated film director Guillermo del Toro are also featured in the game.
Del Toro denied reports that he is involved with the creative development of "Death Stranding." He emphasized that his contribution to the game is limited to being a cheerleader of Kojima's ideas and a puppet in his hands.
When it comes to gameplay, Kojima and Kojima Productions stated on Twitter that "Death Stranding" will go beyond the usual definition of action and role playing game found in similar games. It is an ambitious game with online elements and very distinct with other games created by Kojima before, Trusted Reviews reported.
It will also employ Kojima's trademark of surreal, silly and over-the-top storytelling and uses the Decima Engine tech used to power "Horizon: Zero Dawn" on PS4. Reports added that Kojima Productions is working closely with Guerilla games on the development of "Death Standing."
Kojima confirmed that the game is now in full-blown development and fans speculated that it will be fully revealed at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 on June 13 -15. E3 is an event where the future of video games is debuted, showcased, and experienced.
Unfortunately, "Death Stranding" is not the most anticipated 2017 game of Kojima but Rockstar's "Red Dead Redemption 2." Reports revealed that Kojima has always been a fan of Rockstar's work.
