'Fate/Grand Order VR' News: Upcoming PlayStation VR Version Features 'Mashu Kyrielight' [VIDEO]
ByMobile role-playing game characters have never been more real than what "Fate/Grand Order" has in store for their fans. Originally developed and published by Type-Moon and Aniplex, the popular mobile game has finally taken a big step forward with its upcoming "Fate/Grand Order VR" version for PlayStation 4, which was announced during the F/GO winter event held in Nagoya last week.
Twitter user Humanity has posted updates during this event, while a key visual was uploaded online, as seen on Otakomu's blog post.
A teaser trailer on YouTube was also released by TYPE-MOON MOVIE last January 20, which shows an image of Mashu Kyrielight - the only Shielder in the entire F/GO universe. But while most people think that the "Fate/Grand Order VR" version for PS4 involves the mobile game itself, those who attended the winter event says otherwise - it's primarily a way for fans to meet Mashu Kyrielight, as well as experience what it's like to be in the game with her, according to Gematsu.
For those who are new to the world of "Fate/Grand Order", it is a free-to-play online RPG based on Type-Moon's game novel, "Fate/stay night" and was first released in 2015. In terms of gameplay, players become "Masters", who can summon "Servants" with exceptional skills and other abilities needed to defeat enemies. The game format is like that of a graphic novel - complete with an interesting storyline and a more detailed visual. What's more, players get to fully experience the game as "Servants" even have their own stories to explore.
Furthermore, an F/GO anime movie adaptation by Lay-duce was released last December 2016. Dubbed as "Fate/Grand Order: First Order", it stars popular Japanese voice actors Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ritsuka Fujimaru (Asuma Mutsumi from "Kiss Him, Not Me"), Rie Takahashi as Mashu Kyrielight (Emilia from "Re:Zero -Starting Life In Another World"), and Ayako Kawasumi (Aki Natsuki from "Sword Art Online II").
The "Fate/Grand Order VR" version for PS4 is set to be released this year.
