2016 was undeniably the year of games - be it on desktop, mobile, PlayStation, Xbox, and other game consoles known to man. However, there's one that practically stood out above the rest: Naughty Dog's "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End".

A thread posted by timetokill, which was presented along with cheesemeister, last January 21 on NeoGAF's forum site shows the overall results of last year's top games. Garnering 1964 points and 32 honorable mentions, PlayStation 4's highly popular game "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" by Naughty Dog ended up in the number 1 spot, followed by the also popular "Doom" by id Software and "Overwatch" by Blizzard Entertainment.

As further reported on a post by DualShockers, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" conquered the "Adventure Game of the Year" category, trailed by SIE Japan Studio's "The Last Guardian" at second place (with 1310 points and 20 honorable mentions) and Playdead's "Inside" at third place (with 826 points and 35 honorable mentions). Meanwhile, "Doom" and "Overwatch" conquered the "FPS Game of the Year" category and rose to the second and third overall places with 1776 points and 35 honorable mentions and 1607 points and 25 honorable mentions, respectively.

It is worth noting that the voting period for NeoGAF's Games of the Year 2016 started on December 24, 2016 and just ended last January 21. The overall votes garnered were 12,038, with points accumulating up to 26,127. For the voting process, it was based on each voter's 10 game preferences with the first preference worth 4 points, second and third worth 3 points, fourth up to sixth onwards worth 2 points, and lastly - 2 honorable mentions, but without any points, as reported on the same post by DualShockers.
