A recent update for "Killing Floor 2" was released for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Two refreshing details about this update release are that it is big, and it is free.
"Killing Floor 2" - Tropical Bash description
The update called "Tropical Bash" is the first free content given by Tripwire Interactive to owners of "Killing Floor 2." The update is quite extensive and features a new tropical island map (Zed Landing), a slew of new enemies, new armaments, and new "emotes" for the players' characters, according to DualShockers.
Zed Landing, located somewhere in the South Pacific, is described as a new map set against the backdrop of a plane crash and a giant volcano, which actually erupts and spews out lava. The lava becomes part of the play space as an added hazard to players. The volcano eruption also changes the landscape as well as partially impairing environment visibility.
"Killing Floor 2" - Tropical Bash features
A new Gorefiend Zed is introduced in the update said to be more dangerous than its brother, the Gorefast Zed. The new Zed brings added challenges both for new and veteran "Killing Floor 2" players for it has dual blades and powerful attacks.
Players have to contend with Gorfiend's attacks while traversing Zed Landing. Additionally, a makeshift spiked mace called "The Bone Crusher" is likewise added to the pack along with a shield used for the Berserker perk, Gamespot reported.
Another cool feature the "Tropical Bash" brings is that weapons can now be shared among perks. This effectively increases weapon choices for each perk during game play. Emote animations are also added with more being acquired from unlocking Emote Crates. New emotes can also be purchased alongside new weapon skins and other items in the Steam community marketplace.
Pundits reviewed the new update said it is both challenging and well designed. Likewise, based on users' positive comments over at PlayStation.blog, it would seem Tripwire Interactive scored well with their players on this game update.
