Critics of DC Comics movies, such as "Man of Steel," have complained that the motion pictures have been too dark. While the darkness of the new TV series "Powerless" will not be a problem. Being touted as the first comedy series of DC, the upcoming American comedy series actually pokes fun of the genre.

"Powerless" is the next silly comedy series on NBC in the same vain as the fantasy comedy TV series, "The Good Place." In some ways, both TV shows are a throwback to the fantasy sitcoms like "Bewitched" and "I Dream of Jeannie."

Vanessa Hudgens plays the lead character in the "Powerless" comedy series and the actress thoroughly loves it. Hudgens stated that she's excited to watch it herself. The actress also said that she always cracking up on set, she feels like she's really going to enjoy watching the TV show, Teen Vogue reported.

Hudgens also likes the concept of the "Powerless" TV show. The "High School Musical" actress said that the upcoming comedy series is something that hasn't really been explored much, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Nevertheless, the action of the "Powerless" comedy series takes place in Charm City, a place that has been destroyed over the years due to the battles between good and evil. Charm City is where the subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises (Wayne Security) is located.

The struggling Wayne Enterprises creates new products to aid residents from the damage that can be done by both superheroes and supervillains. The company is run by Van, Bruce Wayne's clueless cousin, who has just hired young Emily Locke (portrayed by Hudgens) to serve as Director of Research and Development.

Other characters of the new "Powerless" comedy series are Jackie played by Christina Kirk, Ron played by Ron Funches, Teddy played by Danny Pudi, Wendy played by Jennie Pierson and Steve played by Josh Breeding.

"Powerless" TV show debuts on Feb. 2 at 8:30 p.m.
