The once mega cellphone provider Nokia wants back in the Android business with an Android launcher called Nokia Z. People can download it from Google Play where it's still available even today for free. However, Z is not exactly a finished product because when it was released it was in its beta stage. With so many Android phones slated to be released by Nokia this year, the Z launcher needs an update and improvement; but it's not going to happen.

Nokia is starting to get ready to enter the Android phone market and it's going to roll out several Android models this year. However, the Z launcher will remain to be its 2014 old self because the company has no further update plans for it, Phone Arena reported. This only means that the company will not use it for the next batch of Android gadgets it has in store for the world.

The Nokia 6, which was launched this year for the Chinese market, didn't make use of the Z launcher. It carried an Android Nougat interface instead, customized for the Chinese market. But until today, over 1 million Nokia users still carry the Z launcher.

Moreover, these Nokia users seemed to approve of the Z launcher rating it 4.2 out of 5 stars. It received a warm welcome with people saying Nokia just made the smartest Android launcher in town and that it's wonderfully simple and innovatively shocking, APK Mirror reported. Some fans were even happy that the launcher came from Nokia itself, which was the go-to company for phones back in its heydays.

The Z Android launcher was updated last in 2016 and if it won't get further updates for the next line of Android devices from Nokia, a lot of people will be disheartened. The simple, effective, and interesting Nokia launcher seems to be the key that will help Nokia re-establish its name again.
