J.K. Rowling Shuts Down Rumor
Excited fans will definitely be disappointed as J.K. Rowling tweeted the news with the caption that the rumor of a new "Harry Potter" trilogy is not true, Comic Book reported. However, stubborn fans can still look for hope in the fact that creating a spin off franchise from the "Harry Potter" used to be something that was far from happening. Moreover, "Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them" premiered in November 2016, with numerous sequels under development.
Meanwhile, Jim Hill continued to say in his guest appearance in the podcast that Warner Bros is in talks with the original cast since they are planning to create a "Harry Potter: The Force Awakens," for lack of better term. According to Hill, Warner Bros wants the new trilogy to have Watson, Grint, and Radcliffe along with other new young actors.
However, Daniel Radcliffe also denied the rumors that he would reprise his role as Harry Potter in the new movie trilogy. That's despite the fact that Harry Potter in "Cursed Child" would be 37 and the film trilogy is rumored to be out in 2026, which would have made it just right for Radcliffe.
