‘Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia’ Coming to Nintendo 3DS; Re-imagining of Gaiden Features Revealed [Video]
ByNintendo announced "Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" will be the latest addition to the 3DS. Inspired by a 1992 game called "Fire Emblem Gaiden," "Shadows of Valentia" will be on a much grander scale. With new protagonists and new features, a wonderful Nintendo 3DS experience awaits fans.
"Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" Nintendo 3DS Features
"Shadows of Valentia" will feature two protagonists, who are Celica and Alm, who will embark on a quest to join others to fight the war that divides the continent of Valentia. The gameplay might be unfamiliar to those who've already played or still playing recent 3DS Fire Emblem games. That's because it's really based on the Gaiden version, but on a much grander scale, Polygon reported.
The word Gaiden if translated means "side story", which is a complete deviation to the gameplay that fans were used to. One of the features included in the re-imagining is the dungeon crawling. The heroes Celica and Alm will travel on their foot and meet enemies - features not available in the prequels Awakening and Fates.
Hardcore players will nevertheless find some familiar grounds with the game's world map, which is large and navigable and similar to "Fire Emblem Awakening". Other Fire Emblem games have specific paths to follow but Awakening lets players go off the map. And this is what Echoes will have as well.
"Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" Outside Japan Launching
Gaiden was exclusively launched in Japan in 1992, Gematsu reported. For the first time, fans outside Japan will be able to experience how awesome Gaiden was with its re-imagining version which is "Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia". On the Nintendo 3DS family systems, the game is fully voiced and has a modern twist.
