Finally, the long wait is over to all users of Samsung Phones. When the Android 7.0 Nougat Update started rolling out to other smartphone brands, Samsung phone users we're waiting patiently for the update. Many users we're excited to know what features will be included in the update and more importantly, if their device is qualified to receive the update.

The latest Samsung phones started to receive the Android Nougat update earlier this week but users of the older versions of Samsung phones and even the tablets can expect the update on their devices a little later. However, as per BGR, the update will not happen right away but users of the following Samsung phones can expect the update during the first half of the year and will expand in other countries:

  • Galaxy S6
  • Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Galaxy S6 Edge Plus
  • Galaxy Note 5
  • Galaxy Tab A with S Pen
  • Galaxy Tab S2
  • Galaxy A3
  • Galaxy A

The Android 7.0 Nougat Update will include the following features:

  • Quick Panel - the updated Quick Panel now has a cleaner look as the notifications are now grouped for direct replies.
  • Samsung Pass - for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, this newly added feature will let users to access sites and apps with their fingerprints, Independent reported.
  • Multi-window feature - in addition to the split-screen function, the multi-window feature will let users to navigate in a pop-up window that can hold up to five applications.
  • Performance Mode - this new feature will help users to organize and optimize the use of their smartphones, be it gaming, entertainment or battery life.

Now that the list of Samsung phones has been given, users may check on their device if the over-the-air update is now available. Unfortunately, those who are using an older Samsung phone that are not listed may not expect to see the update on their handsets.
