Will the Next Android be Called Android O?

Google has chosen to name its Android OS updates from sweet treats in alphabetical order since Android Alpha and Android Beta. The search giant has already introduced Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, Gingerbread, Froyo, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat to the public and it is presumed that the next version will start with letter O and could possibly be called Oreo, Orange or Oatcake, according to PC Advisor.

Furthermore, given that Android 5.0 is Lollipop, Android 6.0 is Marshmallow and Android 7.0 is Nougat, Android O is presumed to be the Android 8.0 version. Accordingly, Android O is expected to arrive before Google I/O event in August through a Developer Preview activity; however, speculations also suggest that Google is also likely to introduce hardware for Android Nougat aside from Google Pixel Phones.

Google Pixel Phones Performance with Android 7 Nougat

Google Pixel phones' performance with Android 7 Nougat is almost perfect as per review; however, there is one issue that has been reported recently. According to BGR, a particular user has communicated to Google customer service about the annoying bugs that continue to disrupt the audio performance of the phone and has been initially identified as a hardware issue.

However, Google has confirmed through Reddit that Pixel's distortion and crackling at high volume is caused by software issue and that they are working on it. The fix is likely to be carried out through an update of the software and Google also promises to iron out other problems of the Pixel phones either through Nougat updates or the next Android version.
