The fourth season of "Sherlock" ended too abruptly with a lot of questions being left unanswered. Various members of the cast and crew recently spoke their opinions on the possibility of "Sherlock" Season 5.

According to Digital Spy, one of the show's creators and writers, Steve Moffat, said it is possible they could end it if it is the last time. He also said that it would have been great if they ended it on a nice cliffhanger. He adds that he wants to carry on as long as they can because what they have is such a wonderful thing. He went on to thank all the people who have expressed their support for "Sherlock" Season 5.

According to Independent, star Benedict Cumberbatch was very optimistic in an interview. He says everyone is busy now so there is no chance it is going to happen anytime soon but he says there is always a possibility it is going to happen in the future. Another member of the show's cast, Martin Freeman says he don't know how long the series will go on. He tells the fans to just enjoy the reruns of "Sherlock" since he is not sure if there is going to be a "Sherlock" Season 5.

Both of the top stars in "Sherlock: Season 5" are currently locked in deals to star in upcoming Marvel movies. Benedict Cumberbatch is an Oscar nominee himself so there won't be any shortage of offers for him. He is scheduled to reprise his role as Doctor Strange in the two movies of "Avengers: Infinity War." Meanwhile, Freeman is slated to reappear as Everett K Ross in Black Panther, due out next year. Apart from that, he is expected to take other film projects.
