'Nioh' On PS4, Team Ninja Sets It Apart From 'Dark Souls' Franchise; Koei Tecmo Hosts Livestream On YouTube [VIDEO]
ByMostfans and avid gamers alike would agree that some of the most memorable games are those that gave them the right dose of challenge and difficulty. As such, it seems that Team Ninja is attempting to return to its roots with their upcoming game "Nioh" for the PS4. Albeit some critics saying that the game is similar to "Dark Souls," the developers went on to differentiate the two games all together. Moreover, fans can also check out a livestream feature of the game hosted by Koei Tecmo in just a few days, according to sources.
It was recently reportedly that "Nioh" has made its final demo available to critics at the Sony headquarters just last week, Polygon reported. From the first E3 demo that the critic has tried playing the game, Philip Kollar of Polygon immediately recognized the influence of FromSoftware's iconic "Dark Souls" franchise.
However, the source indeed highlighted on some of the features that distinguishes "Nioh" from its inspirations. First off, it was pointed out the setting is very much different. Fans of the game would know that the game is set in a fictionalized version of feudal Japan with monsters incorporated along with samurais and ninjas.
Another feature of "Nioh" would be the combat system of the game, more specifically the stances that will determine the players overall approach to every fight. It was noted that players can choose between three different stances during a fight that would result in allowing to use three unique move sets for every type of weapon, which is a feature that the developers have honed through its experience with "Ninja Gaiden."
That being said, fans can check out "Nioh" even more as it will get featured in a livestream event, Gematsu reported. It was stated therein that the game has already gone gold and that it is ready for its release. As such, Koei Tecmo will be hosting a livestream that will feature the game on Jan. 20 via YouTube, Fresh! By AbemaTV, and Niconico.
