For the first time ever, the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship will be defended on WWE Smackdown inside a steel cage as Alexa Bliss puts her title on the line against former champion Becky Lynch. Daniel Bryan gave Lynch the title shot when she made Bliss tap out to the DisArm Her during her match against La Luchadora when it was revealed it was Bliss under the mask.

According to Wrestlezone, former WWE Women's Champion Mickie James is set to make her WWE Smackdown return. There is speculation she will be revealed as the person behind La Luchadora and start a feud with Becky Lynch which means she will get involved in the WWE Smackdown Women's championship match.

According to Forbes, WWE Smackdown closed with John Cena talking trash to AJ Styles following his victory over Baron Corbin. This week, Cena once again resumes his quest to become a 16-time world champion as he prepares to face AJ Styles for the WWE World Title at WWE Royal Rumble. The two have already signed a contract and AJ currently has 3 victories over Cena. Only time will tell if Styles will make it 4-0 or Cena will recapture the title.

Dean Ambrose may be the new Intercontinental Champion after capturing the title from The Miz a couple of weeks ago but The Miz still has his rematch clause that he can invoke whenever he wishes. Both superstars are also entered in the Royal Rumble match and Miz looks to get revenge after Ambrose planted him with Dirty Deeds at the Ambrose Asylum last week on WWE Smackdown.

Last week on WWE Smackdown, there appears to be a disagreement between Randy Orton and Luke Harper of the Wyatt family. Bray Wyatt simply walked out of their agreement and we will find out what is next for this stable.
