A new benchmark may have confirmed the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017)'s specs and features. The device was recently seen on a benchmarking site and the listing revealed the processor and operating system it will be equipped with.

A prototype of the Galaxy J7 (2017) was recently listed on Geekbench. The device's system information revealed that it will run using Android 7.0 Nougat alongside a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 2GB of RAM. The SoC also has the built-in Adreno 506 GPU.

The Galaxy J7 (2016) came with 2GB of RAM like its successor, but the former's Snapdragon 617 chipset is less powerful. The 2GB RAM version of the Galaxy J7 (2017) is equipped with 16GB of internal storage, while its 3GB RAM variant will have 32GB of memory.

The Geekbench listing also revealed that the Galaxy J7 (2017) will come with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. There's a 3000mAh battery, along with a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro-USB port.

Past reports claimed that the device will have a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED touchscreen, which is a notable improvement from the 720p resolution of last year's Galaxy J7, according to GSM Arena. You can check out a render of the Galaxy J7 (2017) below.

The images showed a horizontal metallic strip that contains the camera and LED flash on the device's back part. The button on the left corner may be the loudspeaker since there's no grill that can be seen on the handset render's other sides.

In other news, the highly anticipated Galaxy S8 was seemingly revealed in new promotional videos for Samsung's display division. The unnamed smartphone showcased in the clip has slim top and bottom bezels, with no physical home button in sight. That appearance is in line with the leaked Galaxy S8 renders that surfaced online mere days ago.
