Lenovo's ZUK Z2 and Z2 Pro will finally receive the much awaited Android Nougat update next week. Not only that, its Z2 Plus is also slated for the same in February. The company finally joins the throngs of smartphones with the latest Android update.

Android Nougat Update Up Next Week for ZUK Z2 and Z2 Pro

Just like Lenovo's ZUK Edge, its ZUK Z2 series will also receive the new OS. As expected the Android 7.0 Nougat update will bring serious improvements. Some of it includes new animations, night mode, and multi-window options. Moreover it will improve battery optimization, boot security, and more, NeuroGadget reported.

The update for the ZUK Z2 and Z2 Plus will be first available for the Chinese market with the ZUI 2.5 UI. The European market will follow suit. As of now, only the company's ZUK Edge is the only device that carries the software update.

Z2 Plus Slated for Update As Well

Not only that, according to the same report, the company's Z2 Plus will also receive the same update in February. But this good news comes on the heels of Google's announcement that only 0.5 percent of Android handsets in the market carry the Android Nougat update. That's even after five months since its release, Neowin reported.

This update however, will receive a warm welcome for Z2 and Z2 Pro owners especially because the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS failed to highlight the devices features. These features include the camera and the ser interface, which are both less than perfect, much to the dismay of those who owned the devices.

Nevertheless, the owners can expect their devices will now perform at its optimal level with the ZUI 2.5 update. No word yet whether the company, which acquired Motorola, will also give the same Android Nougat update on Motorola G4s and other Motorola devices.
