Android Wear 2.0 Brings Complete Overhaul to Smartwatch Platform

The most awaited Android Wear Operating System is reportedly rolling out to eligible Smartwatch across the globe and promises feature overhaul. According to Digital Trends, the update not just only bring changes to the design but also brings an additional feature as well.

Accordingly, Android Wear 2.0 update will introduce the watch-face Complications which functions like widget for notifications in the watch. Furthermore, the update also brings a new app called on-watch Play Store and various standalone apps so that the user will not need to connect to their smartphones all the time.

In addition, Android Wear 2.0 also brings enhanced features to responding to texts and messages such as swiping through letters, keyboard, smart replies for faster replies and scribbling. Support for Android Pay will also come along with the update but the Smartwatch needs to have Google Assistant to be able to access the gateway.

More Google Smartwatches is Coming this 2017

In contrary to the previous reports, Google has already confirmed that they will not be releasing smartwatches under the Google Pixel branding. According to The Verge, the search engine giant has already clarified that they are collaborating with two the manufacturers for the next-gen smartwatches that run Android Wear 2.0.

In relative to that, two smartwatches that run Android Wear 2.0 are introduced during CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Casio and New Balance has introduced to the public the new model of Smartwatches in which both have been under the collaboration of works between Google and Qualcomm.

Since the first rollout of the software is slated in February, the following smartwatches are expected to receive the update: Huawei (Watch and Watch Ladies), Nixon Mission, Michael Kors Access (Dylan, Bradshaw Smartwatch), Fossil Q (Marshal, Founder, Wander), LG G (Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, Watch Urbane, Watch R Polar M600), Tag Heuer Connected, Moto 360 (Gen 2, Sport), Casio WFD-F10 and Asus (ZenWatch 2, ZenWatch 3).
