Samsung recently confirmed in an image that its digital voice assistant, "Bixby" will be part of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Samsung's webmasters recently uploaded a picture enlisting the three options on how to pay for goods with the use of Samsung Pay: Shopping, Mini and Bixby.
According to Forbes, Bixby was long rumoured to be the voice assistant for the Samsung Galaxy S8. It is expected to be used by all of Samsung's applications including the web browser, PIM software and Samsung Pay. It has not been confirmed if Bixby will already ship with the Galaxy S8 even though it is a feature that would be ideally promoted alongside the smartphone.
According to Express, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is set to launch in April but Samsung will release a small batch of the smartphones to selected users. It is believed Samsung will break its tradition of unveiling their annual flagship smartphone at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow in Barcelona. They will instead do it at a standalone event in New York in April of 2017.
It is not clear as to why Samsung would release a small batch ahead of its launch but it could stop pictures getting leaked online that end up spoiling the unveiling of the Galaxy S8. The Galaxy S8 is expected to be unveiled in two models, the first being a 5.1 inch dual-curved display and the other being a 5.5 inch.
There will be no separate curved Edge model like the Galaxy S7 range as both Samsung Galaxy S8 versions will have the curved edge. The Galaxy S8 is expected to do away with the physical buttons including the home button located at the front. They will be replaced by virtual on-screen buttons that will help users navigate around the phone.
