‘Star Wars Episode 8’ Has Official Title; Story Follows ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ But Darker Yet Funny [VIDEO]
ByThe release of "Star Wars:Rogue One" late last year was a success and fans are wondering if the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 8" will outperform. Many are looking forward for this year's "Star Wars" movie.
"Star Wars Episode 8" director Rian Johnson and cast have shared some insights on what fans can expect from the next installment. Everyone may have been wondering why it still goes by the title "Episode 8" when the story is focused on Luke Skywalker. Johnson later clarified that it is not going to be the movie's final title, Game Spot reported.
Recenly, Johnson had discussed the plot and said that this year's "Star Wars" now has an official title and it was included in the first draft that he wrote a couple of years ago. In the interview, however, Johnson said he can't reveal what the exact title is yet and he is still waiting for the right time to do so.
He also revealed that the story will pick up from where the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has concluded. Johson added that it will focus more on the relationship between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), iDigitalTimes reported. Fans can also expect to see how Luke will step into the Yoda role while Rey discovers the nature of the Force.
Lastly, Johnson said he wanted the film to be a blast, coupled with doses of humor, which is totally different from the other "Star Wars" movies.
Meanwhile, one of the stars in "Star Wars Episode 8," John Boyega, has previously disclosed that the movie will be darker and bigger than the "Force Awakens" film. It is such a crazy and challenging idea, but surely the director has better plans and all we can do is to just wait and see.
