After five years in development, Lexus unveiled the 2018 Lexus LS 500 at the Detroit Auto Show 2017, wherein the new Lexus beauty is reportedly redesigned from the ground up.

Lexus stated that the LS roar past its predecessors with a 10-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission. The new 2018 Lexus LS 500 ditched the old V8 and instead adopted an all-new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, churning 415 horsepower for its front-engine, rear-wheel drive platform.

The 2018 Lexus LS 500 is touted to trump its German rivals according to its automakers for having a marvel of power train, suspension, and safety advances. Its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, Lexus says, was developed specifically for the LS. Its 442 lb-ft of torque accelerates the car from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, MotorTrend reported.

The 10-speed 2018 Lexus LS 500 features a full suite of advanced safety tech in a Japanese Shimamoku wood inspired cabin so quiet for the optional Mark Levinson audiophile system to work in. Additionally, the 2018 Lexus LS 500 will also be available with an optional 24-inch color head-up display, touted to be the largest to be featured in a car, c|net reported..

The 2018 Lexus LS 500 also features a new generation of its Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management chassis-control system and offers an optional rear-wheel steering. Alongside this, the 2018 Lexus LS 500 comes in with the usual safety features, in addition, offers the first system that has intuitive pedestrian detection. This means the car will automatically slow down or brake and even potentially avoid any person while maintaining within a driving lane, according to MotorTrend.

The bank-vault silent interior of the 2018 Lexus LS 500 is provided by an active noise control suspension, which cancels certain frequencies using its audio speakers through antiphase sound. Its seats feature heating, cooling, and even Shiatsu massage. The rear seats can be reclined up to 48 degrees.

No pricing has been announced though the 2018 Lexus LS 500 goes on sale at the end of this year.
