UCLA vs USC LIVE Radio Broadcast: Ed Orgeron Looks to Continue to Make His Case to be Trojans' Next Permanent HC
ByEd Orgeron is ready to cap off his case for being the USC's next head football coach with a Victory Bell game against UCLA.
Since the firing of Lane Kiffin, Orgeron has led the USC Trojans (23) to five wins in a row and six wins in the seven games he has coached. Saturday night they host (sort of) the UCLA Bruins (22) in what is one of the most interesting and fiercest college football rivalries.

USC's and UCLA's campuses are both located in Los Angeles and are separated by just 12 miles. The close proximity has lead to rivalry names as the "Battle of L.A." or simply "the USC/UCLA game" depending on the fan base.
Both fan bases are so close to one another, the game is essentially a home game for both teams and, as such, both the Trojans and Bruins wear their home uniforms for the annual matchup. The close proximity also makes for a fierce competition between the two L.A. schools, both with very storied athletic programs not only in football.
What's more is Orgeron recently made his desire to be USC's next permanent head football coach very public. He has made his case as well, leading the Trojans back from an underwhelming 3-2 start to 9-3 overall and a renewed shot at a bowl game.
Orgeron also wants to avenge the 38-28 loss last year, which he served as an assistant to Kiffin at the time.
"Getting beat. Losing. Terrible taste in our mouth," Orgeron told reporters. "Against our rival team. Not playing well. Letting down the Trojan family. Not a very good feeling."
The Bruins have an edge on the Trojans in total yards per game - rushing and passing - total points per game, but USC's defense has allowed an average of five less points per game. The game could come down to UCLA's dual-threat passer Brett Hundley and USC's pocket quarterback Cody Kessler.
Kessler has thrived under Orgeron and will also have his top receiving target Marquise Lee, who will be healthy for the matchup.
"We know that there is a lot more emphasis on this game just because of the rivalry and the tradition behind it," said Kessler. "But we're going to treat it just like any other week."
