A few days after New Year's Eve, the TODAY Style Squad was busy looking for someone who needs a makeover. And not just any makeover. During a stormy day in January on the plaza, celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari and TODAY Style Squad personality Jill Martin found someone who needed to welcome 2017 with a gorgeous look.
Emma Frazier, a senior who is taking early education and special education at York College of Pennsylvania was on a Spartan Nation Tour. The tour is something Frazier was excited about because she gets to network with alumni and future Spartans. She is a resident assistant and is in the mentor program, and HerCampus program, too, as reported by YCP Alumni.
This college student from Lebanon, Maine did not expect a makeover during the Spartan Nation Tour. New York City was the second stop in the three week, seven city tour and this future teacher didn't expect that showing up as an audience on the TODAY show would make her a candidate for "Ambush Makeover" by Hoda & Kathy Lee on their show, as reported by TODAY.
Emma Frazier is not only welcoming 2017 with a make over. It also means she is going to her next five stops with a new look. During the big reveal, Frazier exclaimed that the make over was awesome. Her friends cheered for her, too.
Celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari changed Emma Frazier's hair from blonde to a soft red. According to him, it brightens her skin. Arsen Gurgov gave her an easy-to-maintain hair cut which is something busy college students appreciate. Jill Martin spruced up her look with a leather jacket and a lace-up top. To make the program even more exciting, "Muppets" Grover and Abby Cadabby joined in on the celebration.

This isn't the first time a university student was chosen. Last year, Rebecca Narum, a college student from the University of South Carolina also had a makeover.
