Racing with others to impress consumers with the latest in technology, Toshiba has announced its newest convertible laptop with fingerprint sensor at CES this week. It named the laptop Portege X20W, which the company claimed to span a 16-hour battery life.

Tech writers, however, are skeptical whether the battery could really perform that long in the real-world use, The Verge reported. Aside from this standout feature of the laptop, it also boasts is 360 degrees hinge that offers five different viewing angles to the user.

This convertible laptop is competing with similar products and technologies now displayed at CES in Las Vegas, with its offering of becoming a tablet as well as a laptop. Although the source added that the laptop being convertible is nothing new, it adds however interesting features about the device.

The trackpad has an integrated Synaptics fingerprint sensor for biometric security, while two IR cameras are also packed to support Windows Hello facial recognition. If that is not enough to consider the device, consumers might consider its multi-touch display that has propriety TruPen stylus built on Wacom Feel technology with 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity at Windows Ink support.

Reports described that the laptop's True Pen offers a natural pen-on-paper writing experience, making Portege X20W perfect for taking notes, drawing, capturing signatures and completing forms, Windows Latest reported. Portege X20W convertible laptop is also enticing consumers with its premium design.

As a Windows 10 device, it supports USB-C port for charging and allows faster file transfer with its 7th generation Intel Core processor, sources added. Consumers are urged to visit Toshiba's official website to get a glimpse of the Onyx Blue and Slate Gray variant of the laptop.

Toshiba fans and consumers rooting for Portege X30W will have to wait a little longer as further details on the pricing and concrete release dates for this laptop at Microsoft stores are yet to be announced.
