New Linksys Routers Unveiled At The CES 2017: One For Gamers And Another For Netflix Streaming [Video]
ByLinksys has recently introduced their new line of routers for gamers and one for Netflix streaming during the CES at Las Vegas. Let's take a peak at the new line of routers.
Linksys EA8300 Router
Linksys EA8300 is the shortened name for Linksys EA8300 Max-Stream AC2200 Tri-Band MU-MIMO Gigabit Router. It is especially made for Netflix streaming and is relatively cheaper compared to other routers. However, it is able to deliver the fastest real-world Wi-Fi speeds where laptops, tablets and smartphones can connect to. The router has an extra 5GHz band which means the router can serve more devices with minimal congestion, CNET reported.
Here are the features of the Linksys EA8300 as per CNET:
- Powerful hardware: Quad-core 720MHz processor, equivalent to 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 256MB of DDR3 system memory and 256MB of flash memory
- Four high-performance antennas and powerful amplifiers to deliver the best coverage and range
- Advanced beamforming technology for stronger connections to all devices.
- Airtime fairness: Faster devices can transmit at faster speeds while the slower device will not affect the speed of Wi-Fi networks
- Linksys Smart Connect: automatically selects the best band for the fastest wireless speeds
- Seamless Roaming: When used with Linksys' Max-Stream Range Extenders, the home network will have seamless signal hand-off
- Linksys Smart Wi-Fi: Remotely manage, monitor, and control your Wi-Fi network from anywhere using a phone app.
Linksys WRT32X Gaming Router
To avid gamers, speed is the top priority and Linksys came up with Linksys WRT32X, the very first router with killer networking built usually found in high-end gaming machines. Using the router, players can select which device needs to get faster and thr router will prioritize it, in this case, the gaming computer. The WRT32X runs a 1.8GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of DDR3 memory, Digital Trends reported.
Linksys also introduced two more routers namely, Linksys EA9300 which almost doubles the bandwidth of the EA8300 and Linksys WUSB6400M, a high-end USB Wi-Fi device. These new line of Linksys routers aims at Google's home Wi-Fi system.
