They both have an IP68 rating, which means that both can be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for a maximum of 30 minutes.

It was proven to lift the battery life of the smartphone up to 50 percent in under 30 minutes. They have different processors too as the Galaxy A5 runs on a 1.9GHz octa core processor while the A3 runs on 1.6GHz.
