The Microsoft Surface Phone has appeared in a Chinese website revealing key features starting with the Carl Zeiss camera and the use of the surface brand, a first for the company. Earlier, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed that Microsoft is not rushing things in order to come up with impressive specs for the "ultimate mobile device."

The Microsoft Surface Phone has appeared on Weibo, a Chinese social media site, from a known leakster that shows off a premium-looking brick phone with a Surface brand, the Express has learned. The leaked photo reveals some key features of the phone as listed below, but the image could be an older prototype and not the finished product, either which remains unconfirmed by Microsoft.

Microsoft Surface Phone Features

The Weibo leak suggests that the Microsoft Surface Phone comes with a blocky or brick-like design similarly seen in today's premium phones. It also features a large Carl Zeiss camera with a Microsoft label engraved beside the LED flash.

The Microsoft Surface Phone supports a stereo sound with a single speaker at the top, middle and bottom. Also at the bottom are three capacitive touchscreen buttons, namely, left key icon for back, Windows logo for home and lens icon for recent.

Interestingly, it has been reported that it has an additional camera key on the right side with volume and power, MensXP has learned. At the top is the 3.5mm headphone jack while at the opposite end is the USB Type-C port indicating a fast charging feature.

Microsoft Surface Phone: The Ultimate Mobile Device

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in December revealed that the company is not rushing things as it focuses on impressive specs for the Microsoft Surface Phone as "the ultimate mobile device," Forbes has learned. The device will also feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and running the 64-bit version of Windows 10.

The new Microsoft Surface Phone is set to raise the productivity level and targets business customers as it brings the full version of Windows 10 capable of running desktop version apps in the smartphone. Moreover, the phone can be connected to an external keyboard, mouse and display to run apps like Office 2016 or Adobe Photoshop.

Microsoft Surface Phone Release

Based on Microsoft's release cycles, the Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to be unveiled by October 2017. However, Nadella's statements may push the release to first quarter of 2018.
