‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Release Date & News: Erotic Extended Trailer Shows Deadly Threat To Christian & Ana’s Romance
ByThe new "Fifty Shades Darker" trailer doesn't disappoint in terms of erotic and romantic scenes between Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). The duo's path towards romance, however, is paved with roadblocks and some of those may be deadly.
The extended trailer of "Fifty Shades Darker" was released last Monday night, Jan. 2, during the Season 21 premiere episode of "The Bachelor." Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik's duet titled "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" played in the background as clips featuring Christian and Ana were shown, including one with the latter accepting a bouquet of white roses from her dashing significant other.
Watch the extended trailer for "Fifty Shades Darker" below, which bears an ominous "Every fairy tale has a dark side" message.
One scene from the "Fifty Shades Darker" trailer featured Christian inviting Ana to dinner, seemingly open to take their relationship into another level. Ana agrees to Christian's invitation, but only because she's hungry. After their dalliance in the restaurant, Ana shoulders the bill.
Another scene showed Christian getting Ana off while in an elevator cramped with other people. Another featured the two in a boat ride, and Ana beating Christian at pool. These scenes show that everything is going great for the duo -- until a woman from Christian's past enters the picture.
The woman Kate (Eloise Mumford) popped up and disappeared in a stalker-ish way all throughout the "Fifty Shades Darker" trailer, with Ana seeing her multiple times. It's possible that Kate was like Ana in the past; she was probably used and abused and discarded by Christian after he got bored in their arrangement, according to The Guardian.
That turn of events may have been hard for Kate, and so she vowed to exact revenge on Christian and harm Ana in the process. The frazzled-looking woman was asking Anastasia about what she has that she doesn't have while pointing a gun at her.
In addition, the "Fifty Shades Darker" trailer showed a man confronting Anastasia and telling her about how abusive and controlling Christian is. A helicopter crash and a vandalized vehicle (presumably done by the mysterious woman) were also seen.
"Fifty Shades Darker" bows in theaters on Feb. 10. The sequel was directed by James Foley and sees returning cast members Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Ehle, Victor Rasuk, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora and Max Martini, SlashFilm listed.
