Following a patent application issue of apparently copying Apple's smartwach design last August, Samsung finally modifies its past design. This time, a new one is coming out and representing a smartwatch that is better in design and gives purpose beyond just being smartwatches.

Even though Samsung had significant measures of success when it comes to smartwatches with its Gear Series, analysts however are skeptical about smartwatches as a whole. With Samsung's new patent applications it somehow agreed with the analysts' claim and paved way to modifying its smartwatches design by adding a purpose to the device, Sammobile has learned.

The first patent application modifies the smartwatch bands, from interchangeable wristband design, it now shows a wristband or strap that can be pushed to the left or right to bring up the weather, time, distance, heart rate, and many more. The same wristband or wrist strap could also be used as a joystick for gaming motions when worn around the neck.

The second patent application pertains to the flexible display, which involves the use of an artificial muscle that would make the display bendable and subject to invincibility. Samsung was awarded a month ago because of that concept and with the new patent it applies the idea not into a tablet-like device but into a bracelet that can be worn around the arm.

It can be recalled that the past patent of Samsung's apparent immitation of the smartwatch illustrates a look very similar to Apple's smartwatch and nothing like Samsung Galaxy Gear collection, Daily Mail reported. The patent also described and illustrated diverse shapes, structures, and materials of the smartwatch distinctly an Apple's idea and design.

The recent new patent applications though may prove as a vindication that Samsung is still crisp in producing innovative ideas and making the company still on top of the game.
