Move over duckface, there's a new facial pose in town that will actually make you look photogenic.

"The Squinch" is the combination of thewords "squint" and "pinch" and is the secret to looking picture-perfect in every photo, according to a new video "It's All About The Squinch!" from a New York portrait photographer Peter Hurley that has gone viral.

Hurley guarantees that quenching is one facial expression that makes everyone instantly look better.

"If you're a human being who wants to look hot or better or more confident in front of the camera, this is going to do it for you," Hurley said in his Youtube video. "[The squinch is] "my most incredible tip for looking more photogenic on camera."

The squinch - which can be achieved by lifting and tightening or pinching the lower eyelid and letting the upper eyelid drop only a little, creating a slight squint of the eyes -adds a touch of mystery to a photo that makes the subject more attractive, MSN reported.

Squinching is said to make people look much more alluring and mysterious, as opposed to staring goggle-eyed into the camera.

The facial pose also projects confidence, and if one does not have confidence, it creates an illusion of one. According to Hurley, it makes people look self-assured and smoldering in photographs.

"It's all about the squinch," he said. "Confidence comes from the eyes."

Hurley's second tip for being photogenic involves the jawline. To avoid a double chin in photos, he suggests jutting the head forward, with the chin slightly dropped and forehead slightly forward, the Canberra Times reported.

Hurley warns people not to "overdo it" as the techniques are effective only when they are used subtly. You still have to "stand like a normal human being."

"I'm giving this to you as a gift," Hurley said. "You can look awesome. You've got to get this squinching down - you've got to help yourself by squinching."

Hurley has photographed for various publications and fashion companies such as DailyCandy, Levi's, US Weekly and DKNY.
