Sasuke's arc of atonement is set to conclude in "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 488, which will immediately follow a new story arc about his daughter Sarada. The episode is also anticipated for the battle between Sasuke and Chino that was left hanging in the last episode.

In "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 487, fans were anticipating a face-off between Sasuke and Chino but were slightly disappointed that it did not push through. However, there are still talks going around that "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 488 will not be any different, yet, some say Chino might reconsider doing battle with Sasuke.

Fuushin immediately attacked Sasuke when his cover as Nowaki was blown. His wind-based jutsu was powerful but Sasuke was able to subdue him by finding its weakness, the calm in its center. He transported himself atop the wind-based jutsu user and launched an attack from above disabling him.

However, Fuushin still refused to give the information Sasuke is asking for and found himself trapped by a Ketsuryugan technique. He was able to escape the Ketsurguyan by using his Mangekyou Sharingan. This split second move was enough time for the conquered attacker and the Kekkei Genkai user to mount an escape.

A flashback scene was then shown how Fuushin and Chino became close and decided to leave Oyashiro along with three others. They were pursued by Hidden Mist shinobis and were trapped in Hell's Valley. Chino realized the full potential of her abilities, wherein, she could cause those who fall under her jutsu to explode, according to AnimeNewsNetwork.

"Naruto Shippuden" Episode 488

In the brief episode preview, Chino asked Sasuke why he would want to defend the leaf. Sasuke cites to his friend Naruto as the reason, according to NarutoSpot. It seems Chino will not accept this reasoning and will fight Sasuke presumably to the death.

However, fans will not be able to see the next episode until Jan. 5 since the series will take a one-week break. We will know by then what will transpire between Sasuke and Chino.
