Samsung New Gear VR Super Realistic, Touchable ; AI, AR, VR Tech Heightened On 2017 Samsung Devices
ByAmid the Samsung Note 7 scandal, the company has continued to take a stand when it comes to its innovations, impressing the tech industry with its projected devices intended to be introduced next year. These devices are said to be an improved and heightened devices packed with artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality technologies.
This was confirmed by Dr. Sung-Hoon Hong, vice-president of Samsung Electronics as reported by VR Focus. According to the report on Hong's presentation, Samsung is concentrating heavily on virtual object interaction, relating to simple AR capture, direct communication between virtual objects and an artificial intelligence assistant similar to Google Pixel smartphone's Google Assitant.
According to Hong, Samsung is working on two new virtual and augmented reality systems, a successor to its Gear VR mobile headset. A new Gear VR apparently will be presented in a short time but reports said that Samsung's augmented reality work seems more nebulous, The Verge reported
Hong, who made the talk in the Virtual Reality Summit in California pointed out that recent development the company is undertaking can produce a really realistic holograms that looks really touchable. Hong, together with Apple CEO Tim Cook agreed that augmented reality has much better business development possibilities than virtual reality.
Reports claimed that the technology should apparently appear at the 2017 Mobile World Congress in February. Gear VR 3 will improve upon the augmented reality technology seen with the Microsoft HoloLens and Magic Leap.
Hong emphasized that the new VR would be like playing "Pokemon Go" and discovering Pikachu in a tree, only that players are able to move the leaves of the tree to reach Pikachu. He prided the hologram technology of Samsung as really realistic and touchable.
For now, it's a wait and see game for everyone as to the new VR Gear that Samsung has promised to be introduced next year but based on the reports consumers will eventually experience even more realistic experiences touchable enough under this new VR Gear.
