From design and feature, here are a few reasons why Asus ZenWatch 3 is a compelling alternative to Samsung Gear S3 and Apple Watch.

Asus ZenWatch 3: Design

While Samsung claims its Gear S3 will look like an analog watch on your wrist, the striking ZenWatch 3 looks precisely like what it's all about, a smartwatch.

There are three control buttons that are tactile and a pleasing AMOLED display in 1.39-inch size. The timepiece feels luxurious even at a glance and Asus has equipped ZenWatch 3 with more than 60 faces to choose from. The splash-resistant smartwatch is also a good companion during training sessions.

The Android Wear gets a few tweaks for its user interface - making it blend with the hardware. It has quite a long battery life, up to two days for moderate usage, according to Android Police. Apple Watch takes 90 minutes to complete 80 percent battery capacity from zero whilst Asus claims that ZenWatch takes about 36 minutes to charge 50 percent.

The Gear S3 with its Tizen may be a favorite to some of the loyalists but Android Wear in ZenWatch has proven to bring more customizable features in Android ecosystem.

As ZenWatch's Android Wear now compatible with iOS, users can connect it to an iPhone to view incoming calls or read notifications, Versus has learned. Apple Watch, on the other hand, is never compatible to any of Android handsets.

The three smartwatches offer fitness tracking ability such as counting steps and detecting activities like walking or push-ups.

Asus ZenWatch 3: Price

Albeit a personal-preference matter, ZenWatch is the clear winner when it comes to price. With a much cheaper price, ZenWatch 3 offers more attractive features and design, compared to the high end Gear S3 and Apple Watch.
