Google Pixel and XL owners recently discovered a glitch in their devices. It's a freeze problem that causes the navigation buttons found at the bottom of the screen to just disappear. The good news is, Google is aware of the issue and has been directing the users to a support link without giving enough affirmation that the issue will be resolved soon.

Google Pixel Software Freeze Issue

A growing number of those who purchased either the Pixel or the Pixel XL have taken to the forums to air their dismay about the freezing problem. What happens is when their phones freeze up randomly without sufficient cause, it stays that way a few minutes before it gives a responds, Android Headlines reported. Although this may seem like a minor glitch, it's definitely not what the consumers are expecting especially from wildly commercialized, high calibre devices such as these.

The cause of the freezing can be associated to an app called "Family Locator" installed from Life360. Some consumers have reported that uninstalling it have solved the problem. However, some users who have not installed the app have the freezing problem, which means the app is not the source of the problem.

Indefinite Time to Fix the Problem

There is a silver lining with a downside however as Google is very much aware of the problem. What they do is redirect the phone owners to a support link. But this link offer indefinite time as to when the issue might be resolved, Indian Express reported. It would seem that Google still has no solution to the problem.

Google Pixel and its XL version were launched on October 4. Both are flagship, high-end devices that competes with the giants such as Apple' iPhone 7 and Plus and Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Edge. Other than the freezing problem, the Google smartphones also have audio issues and connection issues with the LTE Band 4.
