Samsung will release its first mobile phone on Jan. 6 in the form of the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge. The price has not yet been announced but it is expected to be under $200.

According to Digital Trends, The Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge features a 5MP camera at the back and a 2MP camera on the front. All the photos you take need to be planned because both cameras are fixed-focus configurations. It also has a 5-inch, 1280x720 pixel resolution display.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge will be sold by Sprint on the three carriers that share its network, including both its Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile prepaid arms, reports Venture Beat. It also has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge is powered by a new version of the Android operating system which is 6.0 Marshmallow. It may not be the latest one, 7.0 Noughat but at least it is not the 5.0 Lollipop. The phone has the same battery as the J3 so users who already have the J3 won't see any improvement in that department as it also has the 2600 mAh. It is possible to improve usage time thanks to the Doze feature of the Marshmallow.

For those who think the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge does not have enough interior space, it does have a MicroSD card slot. That is good news for those who plan to buy the smartphone because the operating system will use a majority of the 16 GB native storage. It also features a plastic body even though there is a horizontal strip of plastic that makes the rear seem colorful because of its different color.
