"Pitch Perfect" star Skylar Astin confirmed through a tweet that he and the Treblemakers won't be back for the third instalment of the a capella-themed franchise. Meanwhile, "Orange is the New Black" star Ruby Rose is expected to be casted in "Pitch Perfect 3."

No Treblemakers

Astin said in his official Twitter account that he and the Trebes won't be back for "Pitch Perfect 3" and that the story will take a different turn, Bustle reported. According to fans, removing Jesse and Adam DeVine would be a big loss to "Pitch Perfect." Graduating is one of the reasons for this change.

However, there will still be familiar faces that will be reprise their roles for "Pitch Perfect 3." Fan favourites such as Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, and of course, Anna Kendrick will be back in the third instalment.

Now, fans are worried about having Beca without her boyfriend in the movie. But this doesn't necessarily mean that the two will break up after college. Beca's Barden love interest might only be mentioned in the movie.

Ruby Rose Joins Cast

Besides the familiar faces, a new cast is expected to join the "Pitch Perfect" franchise. Ruby Rose is undergoing negotiations with Universal and Gold Circle to join the crew of "Pitch Perfect" for its third instalment, Variety reported. There are no reports, however, on the character that Rose will play in the new "Pitch Perfect" movie.

Trish Sie will take over Elizabeth Banks as the director of the new movie. Banks will still be in the movie as Fail. She will still be one of the producers of the movie along with Brownstone Productions' Max Handelman and Gold Circle Entertainment's Paul Brooks.

The movie is set to hit the big screen on December 22, 2017 with vice president of production Sara Scott overseeing Universal's movie.
