Several WWE superstars performed up to their star potential in the year 2016 as there are a number of superstars that come into mind when naming the WWE Superstar of the Year. The wrestlers who deserve to be mentioned in this conversation are Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Triple H, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.
Chris Jericho may not have won any major titles but he deserves mention for WWE Superstar of the Year because of how he is still at the top of the game despite being in his late 40's. He made famous witty catch phrases like "You Just Made the List" and "Drink it in Man."
Roman Reigns, according to Wrestlezone, won the WWE title at the main event of Wrestlemania and that accomplishment alone includes him in the talk for WWE Superstar of the Year. He may have lost it a few months later but he won the United States title from Rusev which gives him two title reigns for the year.
Kevin Owens became the second WWE Universal Champion despite being a low pick in the WWE Draft. He has brought new meaning to the most prestigious title of the Raw brand and has successfully defended it against the likes of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The prizefighter can only continue to get better which is why he is a candidate for WWE Superstar of the Year.
WWE COO Triple H, according to Wrestling Inc, won the 2016 Royal Rumble match and the WWE title along with it. He may not have wrestled anymore after that but it was his work in NXT that makes him the WWE Superstar of the Year as he recruited world class athletes such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe and Eric Young.
