Enjoying the comfort, benefit, and luxury of the latest technology could be taxing for an ordinary individual as it summates buying products with ceiling prices but thanks to Xiaomi's first VR viewer, the Mi VR Play Headset, in which masses could now try looking into virtual realities and enjoy the same experience as other expensive VR products in the market.

According to Gadgets Mi VR Play headset is Google Cardboard compatible and also allows users to view 360 degree YouTube videos and Mi Live VR livestreams. The source added that the new Mi VR Play headset is also compatible with Google Cardboard Camera app that lets users click VR photos.

Features of Xiaomi Mi VR Play include a dual front openings for slight positioning adjustments and ventilation. Smartphones owners will not have difficulty fitting it with the headset as it is compatible with 4.7-inches to 5.7-inches sized smartphones and can easily fit Mi Note as well as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The VR Play headset measures 201x107x91mm and weighs 208.7 grams and made out of Lycra, which minimizes weight and makes it more comfortable to wear for a prolonged duration, Android Central reviewed. The anti-reflective lens it sports make image more clear, and its optical-grade aspheric lens has a high tolerance interval of 0.01mm. It also features a textured metal button, which when pressed, a silicone button inside make direct contact with the smartphone.

The source said that customized variants of the VR Play will also be offered in a later date such as the denim, floral, leopard, camouflage, and user-generated designs but for now consumers are offered with the default black variant of the headset. It further stressed that while Xiaomi is not competing in the same category as other mobile VR products it is making smartphone-based VR accessible to more customers.

Bringing the technology to masses is both advantageous to the company and its consumers who would want to try virtual reality experiences in less expensive ways.
