Hideo Kojima Productions News & Update: Shinji Hirano Now President Of Kojima Productions; ‘Death Stranding’ Update [VIDEO]
ByShinji Hirano, a former Konami president, has on board the Japanese video game development studio, Hideo Kojima Productions, as president. Hirano left Konami in March at its headquarters in Tokyo.
Hirano worked at the arcade game company Konami as president for almost a decade. Although Hirano transferred to division director of Konami's sales division in December 2011, Hirano left his role. The LinkedIn page of Hirano shows that everything was quiet until November, when Hirano joined Kojima Productions, according to The Koalition.
The new job summary of Hirano says that he is responsible for managing talented, creative teams as one single entity, and provides leadership to make the video game company successful as one of the greatest game developer in the world. Hirano was regularly seen as a key spokesperson at Konami, to the point where Hirano even hosted the company's E3 conferences, Develop Online reported.
Nevertheless, Hirano isn't the only person to make the jump across Hideo Kojima Productions. The producer at Konami, Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, also made the move when the company was formed, along with Kojima's personal assistant, Ayako Terashima, and the concept artist Yoji Shinkawa. Also, the lead level designer for "Metal Gear Solid V," Jackie Tan, is now listed as a game designer at the Kojima Productions.
Kojima Productions is currently working on the upcoming open world action game "Death Stranding." The "Death Stranding" game was first unveiled at Sony's E3 2016 conference. The video game is slated to roll out sometime in 2019. The game is said to feature actors from the likes of Mads Mikkelsen, Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus.
While the "Death Stranding" is surrounded by puzzles, the Norman Reedus' character name might be the key to unlock those puzzles. In addition, the director of the video game said that when it comes to game enthusiasts poring over the title's press materials, the game has already begun, Game Rant has learned.
