"Ocean's Eight" is definitely taking form. In addition to its awesome all-female robbery ensemble, the movie has also confirmed its villain to be none other than "Homeland" star Damian Lewis.

As per Variety, Lewis is already in final negotiations to join the cast of "Ocean's Eight" as the antagonist, starring opposite Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Elizabeth Banks, Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina.

The name of Lewis' character hasn't been revealed yet, but he is described as the ex-lover of Bullock's character. Lewis' big bad will find himself the target of the group's heist, which hints that his character is either very rich or has an artifact that is very important to one of the female leads. It's also possible that the robbery is part of a revenge act on Bullock's part for something that went wrong during their relationship. The British actor's appearance is said to be more than just a cameo.

Lewis is best known for his portrayal as Nicholas Brody in the Showtime political thriller "Homeland" from Seasons 1 to 3. His performance earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2012. Given his character in "Homeland," Lewis can handle portraying a suave baddie in "Ocean's Eight."

In addition to Lewis, actress Dakota Fanning was also spotted on the set of "Ocean's Eight," leading to speculation that she may have also been cast in the movie. Matt Damon is also confirmed to appear on "Ocean's Eight," reprising his role as Linus Caldwell.

Bullock's character is the leader of the gang of female thieves. She also happens to be the sister of Danny Ocean, played by George Clooney in "Ocean's Eleven" and the sequels that followed. "Ocean's Eight" is more of a spinoff of "Ocean's Eleven" instead of a reboot, Cinema Blend reported. So far, there's been no word of Clooney making a cameo appearance.

Gary Ross is directing "Ocean's Eight" with Olivia Milch writing the script. "Ocean's Eleven" director Steven Soderbergh will co-produce with Ross and Clooney. Susan Ekins is executive producing.

"Ocean's 8" will premiere in theaters on June 8, 2018.
