A teaser trailer has been released for Disney's reboot of the late 80s series, "Ducktales." The show, following the adventures of Uncle Scrooge and his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, is set to premiere on January 2017 at the Disney XD channel.

Other than Uncle Scrooge and his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, other characters set to appear in "Ducktales" are Donald Duck, Launchpad McQuack, Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Magica De Spell and the Beagle Boys according to First Post. One character who will get a bigger role in the series is Webbigail 'Webby' Vanderquack, the granddaughter of Scrooge's maid Mrs. Beakley.

One of the most memorable parts of the "Ducktales" show was Uncle Scrooge diving into a huge pile of gold coins in his vault. There is no question he is bound to do the same thing in the reboot.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the show also inspired a "Ducktales" video game to be made for the Nintendo Entertainment System which ended up getting released again in a remastered format in 2013. The video game spawned renewed interested in the series despite terrible reviews from critics.

The project was first announced in February 2015 with Disney XD Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager Marc Buhaj saying, "Ducktales has a special place in Disney's TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks' comic books and set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with people of all ages through its storytelling and artistic showmanship. Our new series will bring that same energy to the generation of today."

The first season of "Ducktales" will last 21 episodes including two episodes that will run for an hour. No time slot has been announced for the new TV series.
