"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 has already started filming, prompting speculations from last season's finale that there will be a riot in the Litchfield Correctional Facility with more inmates sure to be sent to the Security Housing Unit (SHU). Fans of the Netflix show eagerly awaits season 5, wondering who will die next or whose characters will make a comeback.

Netflix has signed "Orange is the New Black" for three more seasons, sealing the show's success when it comes to compelling stories about the inmates and the correctional officers. The black comedy has offered something unique to viewers by ingeniously mixing comedy with serious undertones of women in prison cells.

"Orange is the New Black" Season 4 finale has given a cliffhanger ending where Daya (Dascha Polanco) holds a gun to CO Humphrey (Michael Torpey). With Humphrey's villainy revealed, there is a good possibility that he may be the first death to debut in Season 5.

The previous season has shown that the inmates of the Litchfield Correctional Facility may be headed to an all-out riot as more and more inmates are questioning the authority of the officers. CO Bennett (Matt McGorry) is the one character that might make a comeback to save Daya and neutralize the situation according to Cinema Blend.

Another troubled character is Taystee (Danielle Brooks) who may be sent to SHU or back to the regular ward. It all depends on what course of action she will take towards Caputo (Nick Sandow), who still refuses to hold Bayley accountable for the death of Poussey.

As Taystee faces an entry into SHU, Sophia (Laverne Cox) will be making an exit from the unit and into the regular ward. Fans are hoping that this new twist will offer more screen time for Sophia whose back story was not revealed in the "Orange is the new Black" previous seasons.

Lolly (Lori Petty) is again back in the Psych Ward, but the actress in speaking to The Hollywood Reporter believes that she will have her story told in the 13 episodes of the "Orange is the New Black" season 5. This is what makes the Netflix show endure for it provides viewers a rich source material consisting of the interesting back stories of the inmates and the officers.

"Orange is the New Black" season 5 may air in mid-2017. The show's last four seasons also premiered in June, which means that season 5 may do the same.
