Sony's latest Xperia phones can now be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. The updates are sent over-the-air (OTA). Expect cool new features.

Before getting the update, make sure you are connected to a strong Wi-Fi network, and your handset is full of power. The update is a hefty 1GB, according to GSMArena, so it is also imperative you have ample space in your unit to accommodate the update files. Be patient for downloading will take a considerable time depending on the strength of your connection and the speed of your network.

Head to the settings menu of your Sony Xperia XZ phone and scroll to the bottom of the display. Locate 'About Phone' and tap and then pick 'Software Update' that will appear at the top of the new menu. Next would be to swipe left to show 'System Updates,' where Android Nougat update will appear. If for some reason, it says you have the latest system update, it means the upgrade is not ready. Just try again later.

However, if the update is ready, download it and install it immediately. It is advised from this point on, that you must have more than 50 percent of power on your Sony Xperia XZ even if the device is plugged in and also storage space in the device to match. Once the download completes, the update will auto-install itself and upon rebooting, your phone should now be on Android Nougat 7.0.
