Critics are saying there's a major twist to Alfred's character in the movie, "The Batman." One theory floating around is that he will be revealed as none other than the biological father of the caped crusader.

According to Movie Pilot, Alfred and Martha Wayne (Bruce's mother) had an affair, which led to a son that eventually became Bruce and they decided to not tell anybody about it. After Bruce Wayne's parents were killed, Alfred was chosen as the loyal family butler even though Martha Wayne could have easily chosen somebody else to fill that position. They certainly did not expect Bruce to turn into "The Batman", a caped crusader who fights crime in Gotham City.

Alfred was also given the responsibility of raising Bruce as a young boy and he made him think all along that Thomas Wayne is his actual father. This explains why Alfred would often do more than what he is supposed to do in terms of giving advice and assisting "The Batman" whenever he needed help.

Bruce Wayne, according to Blastr, has a brother named Thomas Wayne Jr. He actually showed up in a couple of issues of World's Finest Comics back in 1974. A boyhood car accident left him permanently wounded so he got institutionalized by his parents. He ended up coming back as a hitman while being manipulated by another villain but he ended up dying after he took a bullet for "The Batman" himself.

"The Batman" stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Joe Manganiello as Slade Wilson and J.K. Simmons as Commisioner Gordon. Ben Affleck is also the director and he also had a hand with the script. No release date has been announced but it is expected to come out after "The Justice League" shows up in theatres.
