X-Men Spinoff TV Series Legion releases its latest trailer, which is unlike any Marvel trailer there is in the world now. The new trailer lacks the explosive action and focuses on a more whimsical feel to the entire teaser. The new TV series is set for release on FX Next year February 8.

The creator of the Fargo TV series, Noah Hawley, who also created Legion, said they wanted to give the show a surreal and more whimsical look, since it would best fit the character, Gamespot reported. He said the rest of the marvel shows in the movies and in tv already covered the running and the kicking. But his main reason to bring a more imaginative feel to the new show is because he believes it is the best way to tell this character's story.

Legion's Synopsis

The Legion TV series tells the story of David Haller played by Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens. He lives in a psychiatric hospital to treat his schizophrenia, which he has his entire life. But the schizophrenic episodes could actually be a mutant gift, especially since its comic book tells that he is the son of Professor X, Digital Spy reported.

The story shows how Haller can't really tell whether the voices he hears in his head are real or not. Hawley said he wants to give the audiences the same feeling as the main character in the TV show.

Stevens is joined by Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza playing Lenny, Haller's best friend and Flight of the Conchords' Jermaine Clement. Hawley, however, said that this show will not be following the time period featured in the recent X-Men Movies, which is a trend that started in "First Class."

Additional Information on the Show

Legion is a partnership between Fox and Marvel. Stevens' character Haller was first introduced in the comic book "The New Mutants" back in1985.
