Majority of fans and avid gamers alike will agree that analysts in the gaming industry play a crucial role in understanding the growing trends and the biggest issues therein. As such, most of their predictions and advice are heeded by most in the field of game development and the likes.

Michael Pachter is one of those analysts whose advice are heeded from time to time. A prime example is how he predicted Nintendo's intentional move in garnering more attention from the intense demand that came from the release of the Nintendo NES Mini, New York Times reported.

He goes on to discuss what lies ahead for the likes of the PS4 Pro, PSVR, Xbox One Scorpio, Nintendo Switch, and even to triple-A games like "Red Dead Redemption 2."

In an interview with the Gaming Bolt, Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, went on to discuss the growing trends in the gaming industry. As such, he touched upon the increasing popularity of VR in games.

Pachter went on to state that there is no clear market leader in this category. As such, Sony could be in the right direction by coming up with PSVR, due to the fact that they're making virtual reality available at a cheaper price compared to the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. However, what will determine the PSVR's success would be the amount of content available for fans to decide picking up the VR headset.

As for the recent next-gen consoles like the PS4 Pro and Xbox One Scorpio, Pachter touched a bit on whether the two platforms will do well in the holidays and as to which console will outsell the other.

He went on to mention that both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One Scorpio will definitely perform well this holiday. However, with the PlayStation dominating the non-English speaking countries and with the PS4 Slim priced cheaper than the Xbox One Scorpio, he believes that Sony will outsell Microsoft.

As for the highly anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2" coming out in 2017, he mentioned therein that the sequel will perform well once it gets released since, unlike the other IPs of Rockstar Games that didn't do so well, this one already has an audience.

He also said that there's no question that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be a phenomenal game.
