iPhone 8 Rumors: Radical Changes In Store for iPhone 8 Models; 3D Camera And Big 5.8-inch Screen Is Coming? [Video]
ByLess than a year away from launch, the iPhone 8 is not short on leaks and rumors about its specifications as with any flagship device. Exciting new features with the inclusion of a 3D camera and a big screen model is rumored to be added that will topple that of rival Samsung.
As leaks would have it, none other than Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, also regarded as the Apple seer, revealed that there are four significant changes that will rattle Apple iPhone users who would avail themselves of the new Phone 8, according to MacRumors.
iPhone 8 glass chassis
In a previous report, it is mentioned that the new iPhone 8 will have an all-glass chassis. This not only serves the new phone iterations to be more aesthetically pleasing but according to Kuo, the glass sandwich design is to facilitate for wireless charging.
iPhone 8 models
Accordingly, Kuo said there would be three premium models coming for the iPhone 8. For years, Apple has been hesitant to increase its iPhone screen size beyond the traditional 3.5-inches. For the coming models, however, if Kuo said Apple is coming up with 4.7-inches, 5.5-inches, and Apple might even go bigger with 5.8-inches models for iPhone 8, Digital Trends reported.
iPhone OLED display
It is rumored that iPhone 8 will replace the LCD screen with a brighter, more energy efficient, and thinner OLED screen panels. Though reports indicate not all models will incorporate the change, at least, some of the models ultimately will. Additionally, there have been reports from Bloomberg that four main suppliers of OLED screens have supply constraints and may not be able to meet demand for the iPhone 8.
iPhone 8 wireless charging
An exciting new feature expected for the iPhone 8 will allow users to charge their phones from across the room. The technology will allow the unit to be charged untethered by cords or placing the phone onto a charging mat. Though the technology is rumored to be a feature present in some Samsung models, the prospect of having an iPhone be charged in the same fashion is quite appealing.
Kuo added that these changes to the new iPhone 8 will more than likely boost iPhone's standing in the market. Meanwhile, an additional rumor just surfaced that Apple might do away with the iconic "Home" button for the iPhone 8. This change, pundits say will result in thinner bezels that will allow Apple to reduce the iPhone's form factor further.
