Twitter has recently bought Yes Inc. and also managed to acquire a new Vice President for its Core Products division. The Twitter VP position has been left vacant for half a year until now.

Keith Coleman Joins Twitter

Keith Coleman is the former of Yes Inc., which is a startup company that develops mobile social apps similar to what Twitter is offering. Yes Inc. has a total of seven personnel including Coleman and they will all work for Twitter, according to recode.

In exchange for their employment, Coleman will have to close down Yes Inc. and stopped working on their various projects. The Yes team were currently working on wyd which is an app that users can use for sharing status updates. Another app they were working on is called Frenzy which can be use when coordinating an event with friends. Coleman will be replacing Jeff Seibert who left the VP position as early as June. The former VP has returned to resume development work on Fabric, one of Twitter's platforms.

Twitter Acquiring Yes for Its Talent

Yes Inc. is a new, small and start-up company. Its assets and financial resources are not that big compared to Twitter. It's obvious that the mobile app giant is after Coleman and his team. Aside from acquiring talented people, Twitter may also have eliminated potential competitors as well.

The mobile online news and social network site is currently struggling with its own core product, "Bluebird". The company's user base has not risen substantially for two consecutive years. A lot of people don't find Twitter app as user-friendly and there have been issues about its inappropriate use.

The job requirement for the position is so tough that VP for product does not remain occupied for long these past two years. Hopefully, Coleman will bring in the much needed help that the job requires.
