As such, fans of the highly-acclaimed "Gears of War 4" will now be able to enjoy a broader scope of competition as recent reports have shown that a cross-play feature will be put into trial this weekend, according to sources.
It was recently reported that the developers behind "Gears of War 4," The Coalition, has just announced that the third-person shooter game will be receiving a competitive multiplayer cross-play trial this coming weekend, Gamespot has learned.
It was mentioned therein that Xbox One players can now enjoy facing off against other players who are playing on the PC version of the game. It was also stated that the trial for the competitive multiplayer cross-play feature will start this Friday.
Moreover, it was posted by the developers via the game's forums that fans can experience a Xbox One versus PC match via the Versus playlist that they've prepared for this coming weekend, PC Gamer reported.
The source listed the details of Versus playlist wherein fans can expect three different game modes, like the Team Deathmatch, Dodgeball, and King of the Hill. Moreover, it was stated therein that these competitive matches can be played on all of the available maps, which includes both Checkout and Dry Dock.
In addition, The Coalition will also be rewarding these players generously for participating in this trial period of the competitive multiplayer cross-play feature. It was also listed by the source that fans can expect a 1500 xp reward for winning in these matches and a 750 xp reward for every loss.
Players from both the Xbox One console and the PC can form a squad with a maximum size of 5 members.
With all these said, it seems that "Gears of War 4" will be experiencing tons of action this weekend as fans prepare for a bout for supremacy when Xbox One players face off against those in the PC.
