The rumor is rife that "Marvel vs. Capcom 4" will be released in 2017 and is expected to feature new fighters. It will pull out X-Men mainstay fighters such as Wolverine and Magneto while a new lineup of fighters, such as Groot and Ant-Man, will be added instead.

Fans are also expected to see super heroes from "The Avengers" and characters from "The Guardians of the Galaxy."

According to the multiple sources of Polygon, the development of the "Marvel vs. Capcom 4" is currently underway. Jay Ong, the vice president of the Marvel games also made a statement that hinted the probability of the upcoming release of the game.

Ong said that they are aware that their fans are have been expecting another series of the "Marvel vs. Capcom games but he did not announce anything else rather, he added no one knows what the future holds, Polygon reported.

On the other hand, Capcom said that they do not issue comments of rumors or speculations, according to PlayStationLifeStyle.

The "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" was removed from the list of PlayStation Store following the expiration of Capcom's license with Marvel. The rumored release of the fourth series of "Marvel vs. Capcom" is nothing but good news to Marvel and Capcom fans.

"Marvel vs. Capcom" series became one of the great video game of all time back in 1999 and in 2000, the series reached its peak with the release of "Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes".

It is expected that the "Marvel vs. Capcom 4" will be revealed at the 2016 PlayStation Experience event at Anaheim, California on Dec. 3 and 4 where a lot of games are expected to be announced.

However, rumors will still be rumors until confirmed. So fans of the "Marvel vs. Capcom" need to wait for the unveiling at the PlayStation Experience.
