James Gunn’s Brother Reveals Major Plot on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2;’ Movie Begins with Rumbling among the Ravagers on Yondu’s Allegiance
BySean Gunn, the brother of "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn, revealed that the sequel will start with Michael Rooker's Yondu having trouble with his group of pirates, the Ravagers, as they question their leader's allegiance.
Sean Gunn, who plays one of Youndu's Ravagers Kraglin, said at the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest that the Ravagers are having an issue with Yondu's loyalty after being double crossed by Peter Quill, who gave them a fake Orb with a Troll, not the Power Stone, Cinema Blend reported.
Mutiny on Yondu
Gunn said that there is some rumbling among the members of the Ravagers, asking whether Yondu is getting soft on Quill. This leads them to making a tough decision on what to do about Yondu. And Kraglin, who Sean Gunn plays, has a big part in the next things to happen with Yondu, Movie Plot reported.
This may mean mutiny. If Yondu runs awake like a fugitive from his own crew, it would be logical, since he would become part of the Guardians in the sequel. It was revealed in reports that Yondu would indeed be one of the main characters joining as a member of the Guardians.
Plot Reveals
Another big plot revealed is on how Star-Lord learns that his father is in fact Ego the Living Planet, but no other details were given on how this would happen and how it would affect the entire story. On theory is that Yondu was hired by Quill's father to kidnap the boy from Earth to bring him to Ego, but Yondu kept the boy as part of his crew instead.
Footage was revealed in San Diego Comic-Con showing Yondu and Rocket imprisoned by the Ravagers. Thankfully, baby Groot was there to help them escape.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Taserface, one of the new members played by Chris Sullivan, will be the new leader of the Ravagers.
